What a great idea -- devoting an entire day (today, January 15) to celebrate that most wonderful piece of physical adornment -- le chapeau! Why didn't we think of that?
Stay tuned for the scoop on more of our hat-related adventures.
Please visit the site of Glommers Hattmuseum in Swedish Lapland! This is a museum with 350 hats for ladies, made in the 30s´ to the 60s´, that the local milliner, Jenny Stenqvist, never sold but placed in the attic. When we moved in to the house that once belonged to Jenny, we simply had to make a museum of it, visited by 500 people each year! You are so welcome to us in Swedish Lapland, close to the Arctic Circle!.
You two look beautiful as always! Before I used to collect jewelry. Now I I've added another passion...HATS!!! Hope to see you at the Pier in March :))
A belated shout out to the beauty of your hats, and you wearing them, on a day that I celebrate with all of my heart. National Hat Day will be on my calendar for the rest of my life!
GROWING OLD WITH VERVE
‘Growing old gracefully’ is an outdated concept. We prefer ‘growing old with verve’. This blog documents our efforts to live up to that motto, in photos and essays. We embrace our gray hair, while sharing the playground nicely with our younger siblings. Bette Davis was right when she said 'growing old is not for sissies', but it’s also not one of Dante’s circles of hell. Idiosyncratic Fashionistas explores what’s out there for Women of a Certain Age, comments on what’s not out there, and demonstrates that our overlooked demographic is still fabulous.
AND see our long awaited and much ballyhooed public access tv debut, in which we model 12 great hats in 28 minutes:

You can visit our complete weekly postings, dating back to August 2, 2009. We update VERY late every Sunday.
THE IDIOSYNCRATIC FASHIONISTAS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR CONSULTATIONS ON RETAIL FASHION PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT. To paraphrase Freud, 'What do women of a certain age want?' We know! Ask us. Contact mono.crone@gmail.com.

Unfortunately, it was only Hat Day in the US - no mention of it here north of the border. I knew the two of you would be celebrating!
